Meet the Owner, Tashida

I was born and raised in Lancaster, SC and immediately after high school I joined the United States Navy. I went on to serve my country for 4 years as an Information Technician. I met my wonderful husband, Adrian while we were both serving in the Navy in Manama, Bahrain. It was truly love at first sight! Adrian and I married in June 2003.

After I finished my active duty enlistment time in the Navy, I obtained my Masters in Business Administration and I started working for the British Consulate General-Atlanta where I worked for a little over 5 years. During our marriage my husband and I struggled with infertility and was blessed with our baby girl via InVitro Fertilization that we named Miracle after 6 years of battling infertility. Having a child care was always a dream of mine but one that I never imagined to be a feasible dream. The opportunity became available and with Miracle just turning one I decided to jump on the opportunity because the battle with infertility made me want to be with my child and enjoy every single minute and milestone with her that I could.

We became the owners of Grayson Academy in January of 2011 around the same time we found out we conceived a natural surprise pregnancy which resulted in my son, JaVaun. In January 2011 when we took over Grayson Academy there were only 45 children in the center and it was barely thriving. I took what I knew I wanted for my children, the care I knew I wanted them to have, and the education I knew I wanted them to gain and poured all that into the center.

Now years later, it's all still a work in progress, but we see progress, we see growth and we'll continue to trust God through the journey for the years to come. One thing you'll know for sure when you entrust your children in our care at Grayson Academy is that we love each and every one of them as if they are our own. We strive to provide a nurturing, loving and caring environment for your children, making them feel as though it's their home away from home. The best part about it all, we love what we do and I've been blessed with a wonderful team that love what they do.
